Physiotherapy – and massage in particular – can be a helpful element in psychiatric therapy to combat stress, anxiety, depression and other mental disorders. It helps reduce muscle tension, lower stress hormones, improve blood circulation and stimulate the release of endorphins. It can reduce or relieve muscle and joint pain, which often occurs in people with depression or other mental disorders. It has a very positive effect on improving the quality of sleep and can be helpful in the fight against insomnia. it is recommended in support of therapy for drug disorders and PTSD.

Types of massage that can be helpful in psychiatry:

  • Relaxation massage: Can help relax muscles, reduce stress and improve mood.
  • Psychosomatic massage: Can help you get in touch with your body and reduce psychosomatic tension.
  • Sports massage: Can help relax muscle tension, which is often present in people with anxiety and depression.
