Our team

Our team consists of doctors and specialists with over 20 years of experience in clinical work with patients. We approach each patient individually and comprehensively, which is why the patient is under the constant care of psychiatrists, internists, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, psychodietitians and clinical dietitians, diagnosticians, art therapists, music therapists, choreotherapists and nurses.

prof. dr hab. n. med. Katarzyna Agata Kucharska

Psychiatrist

Professor at the Centre for Psychosomatics and Health Psychology, Institute of Psychology, UKSW in Warsaw; specialist psychiatrist with British qualifications and registration with the General Medical Council; master practitioner for eating disorders and obesity. In the years 1996-2000 I completed four training internships at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. I was a scholarship holder of the Batory Foundation (1997), twice of the Wellcome Trust (2000, 2003) and the British Council (2000). I carried out a research project entitled “Neural correlates of emotional word recall in depersonalisation disorder patients and normal controls – fMRI study” in 2000 at the Institute of Psychiatry in London as part of the Wellcome Trust aimed at searching for the “emotional brain” or coordinated systems of neural connections responsible for the regulation of emotional behaviour in normal and depersonalisation disorders. Another one-year stay (06.01.2002-06.01.2003) at a renowned research centre (Department of Cognitive Neuropsychiatry; Neuroimaging Unit, Institute of Psychiatry, London) enabled me to carry out a research project entitled "Fear perception in schizophrenia: a combined structural and functional MRI study" using the latest neuroimaging techniques (fMRI BOLD method), with the use of unique research experiments aimed at searching for the "emotional brain" in norm and pathology.
 
In the UK (2004-2014) I worked as Consultant Psychiatrist, Honorary Senior Lecturer and Medical Director. In the period 01/4/06-31/3/09 I collaborated with the Institute of Psychiatry in London as a Visiting Research Associate – Honorary Attachment. In the years 2005-2007 in Cardiff I was a Research Supervisor of MSc in Psychiatry students. I was a co-founder and director of the Specialist Eating Disorders Treatment Centre in NE Lincolnshire, UK – awarded the Innovation Award in 2009 and nominated in 2014 for the BEAT “best clinical team of the year” award; I received two prestigious Clinical Excellence Awards – 2010 and 2013 – for my clinical, teaching, management and research achievements, Hull, UK. After returning to Poland in September 2014, I was the Head of the Neurosis Clinic and co-founder of the Specialist Eating Disorders Treatment Unit at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw and the Specialist Therapy Center Gedeon Medica. I was the head and main executor of many scientific projects in Poland and Great Britain. I am the author and co-author of five books, fifteen book chapters, comics for teenagers: "Skinny Happiness" and "Returned Life" and about 150 Polish and foreign publications. Clinical expertise in the treatment of depression, autism spectrum disorders - Asperger's Syndrome, insomnia, anxiety disorders/neuroses, OCD, eating disorders, stress-related disorders, psychosomatic disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, bipolar affective disorder, psychoses, behavioral addictions.The most important international and Polish awards and distinctions 2023 – UKSW Rector's Award – for scientific achievements 2013 – Clinical Excellence Award –level 2– for clinical, teaching, management and research achievements, Hull, UK 2010 – Clinical Excellence Award level 1 – for clinical, teaching, management and research achievements, Hull, UK 2009 – defense of habilitation thesis 2009 – Innovation Award presented to the Specialist Eating Disorders Service by the PCT Trust Committee in North East Lincolnshire 2002 – member of the organising committee of the Congress for European Psychiatrists 'Maudsley Forum' organised at the Institute of Psychiatry in London on 9-13 September 2002. 2002 March 15-19 – distinction awarded by the International Selection Committee of the World Psychiatric Association in the form of participation in the educational program entitled "The Professional Development of Young Psychiatrists". 2001 – Winner of the Prime Minister's Award (2001) 2001-Winner of the Wojciech Moczulski Award granted for her doctoral dissertation by the Board of the Polish Psychiatric Association 2000 – distinction in the Competition for the Best Doctoral and Master's Thesis (StatSoft Polska) 2000 – defense of doctoral thesis (with distinction) Fellowship for active attendance of the 11th World Congress of Psychiatry in Hamburg, 1999. 1999 – European Brain and Behavior Society Fellowship for active attendance in workshop- Hemispheric specialization and compensatory strategies in brain disorders, Ascona, Switzerland. December 1997 – Batory Foundation Grant enabling active participation in the Expressed Emotion Course, London 1998.

Child and Adult Psychiatrist, Sexologist

Dorota Sawicka has a specialist title in fields such as psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and sexology. She completed a 4.5-year comprehensive course at the Department of Family Therapy, Department of Psychiatry, Medical College of the Jagiellonian University. She also completed courses in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy for children and adolescents in CBT and short-term psychotherapy in Krakow.

Marta Pawlak

Clinical psychiatrist, Child and Adult Psychiatrist

Clinical psychiatrist, works with children from the age of 5, adolescents and adults. MD Jakub Zawadzki

I am a doctor, a graduate of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Warsaw. I am currently undergoing specialist training in psychiatry at the 3rd Psychiatric Clinic of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology. I have experience in working with Patients in the departments of personality disorders and neurotic disorders, diagnostic and therapeutic departments and acute admission departments. During medical consultations, the patient's conscious participation in the treatment process is important to me. To this end, I am constantly expanding my competences in the field of psychopharmacotherapy and new treatment technologies in psychiatry. I enrich my knowledge by participating in psychiatric conferences, as well as specialist certified courses and trainings.

mgr Aleksandra Szurek

psychotherapist

psychotherapist Provides individual and group psychotherapy in the integrative stream. Thanks to integrative, I adapt the therapeutic work current and tools to the needs and current situation of the patient. Among other things, she uses the tools of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, schema psychotherapy and elements of psychodynamic therapy. She completed a 4-year training in integrative psychotherapy at the INTEGRA center conducted by SPCH with recommendation from the Polish Council of Psychotherapy, as well as a one-year training at the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy - CBT Center recommended by PTTPB. She is also a certified ICC Coach, career counselor and university lecturer. She gained her experience at the UKZ Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital in the day ward and at the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic at the hospital. She is a member of the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy and the International Coaching Community.

Bartek Dzikowski

Occupational therapist

She teaches classes that use the sound of crystal bowls and other instruments for relaxation and visualization. She also uses voice emission techniques , through which patients can express their emotions as well as increase their self-confidence by discovering their primary sound and singing in full voice.Bartek Dzikowski is a graduate of Kazimierz Wielki University, with a master's degree in artistic education in the art of music. He completed three years of training in Clinical Music Therapy with Dr. Elżbieta Galińska. He also obtained two certificates from Dr. Ilter Denizoglu in voice emission and rehabilitation techniques using Dr. Vox's method. He participated in a workshop on the Circle Singing technique, led by American singer Rhiannon (who has worked with Bobby McFerrin). He trained with Italian singer Silvia Fadda, a continuation of Luciano Bettarini's school.He worked with the American Embassy School for twenty years. He has many years of experience working with children and adults. As a musician, he is a producer and songwriter. He creates for both adults and children. He has performed in Poland and abroad, including. At London's famous Camden Gallery club. He has released two original albums: “Traveling Soul” and ‘River,’ as well as singles and children's songs.

Anna Tulczyńska

Psychologist, Psychotherapist

Psychologist, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, tutor. She has several years of experience working with children and youth. In her work, she combines knowledge of cognitive-behavioral therapy, Schema Therapy, ACT Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. She is also the author of several dozen publications on psychology for parents, educators and teachers, has expert appearances on radio and television, and numerous webinars. Certified psychotherapist (certificate 375), member of the Polish Society of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She graduated from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw, specializations: Psychotherapy and Educational Psychology, as well as a two-year Study of Sociotherapy and Psychological Assistance, a two-year course in Basics of Professional Psychological Assistance at the Psychoeducation Laboratory, a Study of Motivational Dialogue. She is a graduate of a four-year School of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapy CBT. She completed a two-year internship at the Youth Center for Prevention and Psychotherapy MOP and the Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę Foundation. Since graduation, she has been constantly improving her skills - she has several thousand hours of training behind her. She works in one of the renowned Warsaw high schools. Conducts individual therapy, counseling for parents, workshops to improve parenting skills, and lectures.  She provides individual psychotherapy to people with: mood disorders; those experiencing severe stress (in the event of a divorce, moving house, changing school or starting education);  with anxiety disorders (social phobia, school phobia, separation anxiety, panic attacks) abnormally developing personality and personality disorders working with shy children and teenagers who lack self-confidence, experience difficulties in peer relationships or experience peer violence;  therapeutic work with children and young people refusing to go to school, experiencing severe stress at school or in pre-examination situations; searching, together with young people, for motivation to learn, supporting them in planning activities, teaching effective methods of learning and concentration. Working with parents: wanting to improve their difficulties in relationships with children, having behavioral problems, looking for solutions, tired of constantly giving unfulfilled orders or ineffectively setting boundaries;  support for women who feel sadness, helplessness and fear after childbirth.

Iwona Dudzińska

Adolescent and family psychotherapist, psychocorrector

She graduated from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw with a general specialization and “Supporting personality development.” She completed a four-year psychotherapy study conducted by MABOR Psychological and Medical Center and Center for Counseling and Training in Warsaw, certified by the Polish Psychiatric Association, as well as a training course “Psychotherapy of Children and Adolescents” conducted by CBT - a school recommended by the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (PTTPB), which is a member of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT). She practiced family therapy at the Mazovian Center for Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry in Zagórze (branch in Józefów) under the supervision of Professor Irena Namysłowska. She completed postgraduate studies in vocational counseling and a study of forensic psychological opinion at the Nobody's Children Foundation. In addition, she completed postgraduate studies in Psychodietetics at the Warsaw Medical University and the School for Parents and Educators, authorizing her to conduct workshops for parents, according to the assumptions of this program. She develops her knowledge and professional experience in working with children, adolescents and families - providing psychological assistance, diagnosis, as well as psychotherapy.She offers psychological help and psychotherapy of a systemic nature, but in her work refers to various psychotherapeutic directions, especially cognitive-behavioral.

Magda Kasperek

Psychologist, Patient Coordinator

Psychologist in the course of 4 years of psychotherapeutic training at the DIALOG School of Psychotherapy (integrative approach). I have completed basic and advanced TSR (Solution Focused Therapy) courses. In my work I focus on an individual approach and believe that everyone has the potential to change. My role is to support in its discovery with empathy and understanding. I create a relationship based on trust and acceptance - this is the foundation of effective therapy. I gained experience at the National Autism Society and the Poznan Mental Health Center, among others. For more than four years I supported families as a family assistant. Currently, I conduct psychological consultations, psycho-educational classes and coordinate patients' cases. I regularly submit my work to supervision, which allows me to develop and improve my workshop.
