TREATMENT MODE

The treatment method for depression depends on the severity of the disease. Outpatient treatment can be provided to a patient who sees improvement after taking medication recommended by a psychiatrist. However, if, despite pharmacotherapy, the symptoms of the disease do not decrease, but rather intensify, it is advisable to change the treatment type.

During care, the patient benefits from pharmacotherapy under the constant supervision of a psychiatrist, integrative psychotherapy, constant internal medical and nursing care. Being in a therapeutic community gives the patient a sense of security and the opportunity to distance themselves from their symptoms.

At the Specialist Therapy Center, we offer depression treatment for both adults and adolescents.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy involves the use of various psychological methods, tailored to a specific patient, during individual or group meetings. During individual psychotherapy, the patient has the opportunity to have an honest conversation about emotions, feelings, events, behaviors, habits and symptoms of illness with the leading therapists. Thanks to the bond between the patient and the therapist, it is possible to release emotions, learn and develop an attitude of insight.

A great complement to individual psychotherapy is group psychotherapy, during which the patient has the opportunity to actively discuss their problems and adopt new behaviors. The greatest value of group therapy is the group itself. By sharing their experiences and thoughts with the community, the patient receives great support and motivation. The patient opens up and gains self-confidence. Additionally, they can learn about the experiences of other people who have overcome similar difficulties. The community of patients plays a very important role in the treatment of depression. Patients make new friends and acquaintances, which provide great support in the fight against the disease

COMPLEMENTARY PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychoeducation is also very important, thanks to which the patient learns, among other things, to recognize relapses of the disease. Psychoeducation allows patients to understand the causes and triggers of the disease and certain behaviors or habits.

If depression is associated with trauma or difficult experiences from the past, an effective method of its treatment is psychodrama. During psychodrama, patients act out scenes, which helps them understand the emotions felt in specific situations. Expressing emotions is also made easier for patients by art therapy, choreotherapy and music therapy classes, during which they have the opportunity to symbolically express difficult experiences in the form of speaking “indirectly”.

The environment in which the patient is located also plays a major role in the treatment of depression. A forest environment creating a peaceful and homely atmosphere provides appropriate conditions for treatment and promotes better well-being of the patient.
