Depending on the severity of anxiety disorders, we have different therapeutic options. In the case of mild anxiety disorders, individual psychotherapy in an outpatient setting may be sufficient.
However, if the severity of the disorders is significant, it is advisable to include psychiatric care, and thus often include pharmacotherapy.
During treatment at the Specialized Therapy Center, the patient is provided with constant medical care and access to multiple therapeutic activities.
In the treatment of anxiety disorders, psychotherapy plays a significant role. It is important that it takes place on many levels and intensities. During individual therapy, the patient has the opportunity to have an honest conversation about emotions, feelings, events, behaviors, habits and symptoms of the disorder with the leading therapist. Thanks to the bond between the patient and the therapist, it is possible to find the cause of the occurring anxiety and take specific steps to reduce it.
During group therapy, patients actively discuss their problems in the group. By sharing their experiences and thoughts with the community, the patient receives support and motivation, opens up and gains distance from the symptoms of the disorder. They have the opportunity to look at a given situation objectively. Changing the perception of a given situation allows them to reduce or eliminate the anxiety associated with it or minimize the number of panic attacks.
A similar effect occurs during psychodrama classes. When the patient presents a situation that is associated with anxiety, the group as well as the leading therapist help find the cause of the anxiety and propose alternative behaviors. Thanks to this, the patient is able to look at a given situation objectively and change their perspecitve.
Being in a community of patients makes the patient open up, become more self-confident and learn to distance themself from the symptoms of the disorder.
If necessary, psychotherapy in the case of anxiety disorders is complemented by pharmacotherapy. Pharmacotherapy is carried out under the supervision of a specialist psychiatrist and is constantly adjusted to the patient’s current somatic condition and the advancement of the disorder. It is very important that the entire therapy is carried out under the supervision of qualified medical staff consisting of a psychiatrist, internist, psychotherapist, psychologist and constant nursing care.
