EMOTION REGULATION

In the case of personality disorders, it is very important to acquire the ability to regulate emotions, because the lack of it can cause self-destructive behavior (including suicidal thoughts and actions). In the Specialized Therapy Center, the patient learns to properly regulate emotions, including during music therapy. Music therapy is a form of therapeutic activities during which the patient has the opportunity to express their feelings “indirectly”. Playing instruments facilitates the expression of emotions and helps patients understand the symptoms of the disorder.

RELAXATION

An important element of therapy are sessions with various forms of relaxation. One of the methods is Schultz’s autogenic training. It is a set of relaxation exercises that cause complete relaxation of the body and mind. Another method is choreotherapy. Choreotherapy classes involve working with the body. Emotions cause various types of tension in the body. Appropriate work with the body under the supervision of a specialist allows for complete relaxation, as well as reducing or completely removing emotional tension. Choreotherapy also teaches how to open up to others and at the same time accept yourself.

BEING AMONGST OTHER PATIENTS

Group therapy plays a major role in the treatment of personality disorders, during which the patient has the opportunity to actively discuss their problems and adopt new behaviors. Together with the group, the patient searches for, identifies, and works through the cause of the disorder. Contact with the group allows the patient to look at the problem objectively or from a different point of view. By being in a therapeutic community, the patient develops healthy behaviors and learns to properly regulate emotions.

SAFETY

Medical care is essential for the treatment of personality disorders. During the patients stay at the Specialized Therapy Center, patients are under constant medical, psychotherapeutic and nursing care. This ensures the highest level of patient safety.
